The pre-employment investigation consists of verifying the information contained in the employment application or résumé, and also permits an evaluation of the candidate’s qualities.

It has become a priority in the management of risk in the workplace to guard against the potentially harmful or even destructive consequences of a recruiting error. At the same time, it is equally important to be able to objectively validate the quality of an application.

The report

The pre-employment investigation consists of three steps:

  A verification of integrity and performance with previous employers.

  A search of prior legal records (criminal and penal).

  The obtaining of a credit report.

Personal credit file

The credit file contains personal information such as the person’s name, address, date of birth and social insurance number. It also contains historical data such as the previous and former address, the previous and former employer, public records such as bankruptcies, collateral security or judgments; but most important of all, the credit file has information on the repayment of credit card debt, mortgages or loans.

Supplier's credit file

A supplier’s reference is a simple and economical tool which helps you to avoid unpleasant surprises. The report contains suppliers’ references and a list of information requesters.

Commercial credit inquiry

The verification includes:

  Charter of the business
  Verification of the current bank
  Former bank (when available)
  Suppliers’ references (4)
  Other known suppliers (when available)
  Information applicants
  Verification of public archives

Credit rating

The credit rating is a report which enables you to determine the financial situation of your client. The BCS Investigation team is capable of determining all the assets that your client may possess.

Verification of ownership

Verification of ownership can, if necessary, include the following information:

  Confirmation of the cadastral parish
  Confirmation of the lot number
  Confirmation of the civic address of the project
  Name of proprietor(s)

  Non-annulled legal mortgage

A person search is often used to look for debtors of claims due to alimony, to look for witnesses as well as to find a family member who has disappeared.
